Product Description
Since Osprey was founded in 1974, every single product design has passed through the hands of owner and founder Mike Pfotenhauer, who created his first backpack at age 16. In Santa Cruz, California, the young entrepreneur opened a retail shop in the front of his rental house where backpackers and travelers came for custom-fit, made-to-order packs constructed over several days by Mike himself. As the demand for the great-fitting packs increased, Osprey found itself relocating to its current home in Southwest Colorado. Today, Osprey is a melting pot of diverse personalities, backgrounds and abilities. All share the common belief that adventure is open to everyone and found anywhere.

Lightweight, weatherproof, nice organization, and very comfy. The ventilated padded back keeps you cool. The hip & chest straps are light & useful when you need them, but can be left undone without getting in the way. If you clip the hip strap, you can slip the bag over your carry-on luggage handle & secure it from the top handle… very handy at the airport.
I used this bag for our trip to Yellowstone. It took some abuse & still looks great. My husband’s other name brand daypack didnt hold up as well.
This bag is going to be getting a lot of use.

The quality of this small pack is just as good as all the others. It is the absolute smallest pack I could fit a 17" laptop into. (It doesn't fit it dedicated laptop pocket -- which I think take a 15" -- but that's OK; I keep my tablet the laptop sleeve and my laptop in the main compartment.) Everything feels solid and secure. I rarely use the waist belt and sternum strap, but they're great to have when it is necessary to run 1/2 mile between gates because your inbound flight arrived late. With everything I carry -- including the insanely heavy power brick, my pack weighs 17-ish pounds and after long carries, I sometimes wish for 1/4" more padding on the shoulder straps, but the existing padding is great for shorter trips and long hikes with more reasonable loads. The combination of zipped pockets, the stuff pocket, the adjustability, and other features together with the super-durable material and build? I rank this little one just like our other Osprey packs: 10 out of 10.

The design is not only sleek but also incredibly practical. The spacious main compartment accommodates my essentials from a hiking trip, to a weekend trip, to work. The internal sleeve is perfect for a hydration reservoir or a laptop - I have used mine for both. The additional front pocket and side mesh pockets offer convenient organization, ensuring quick access to necessities.
Comfort is a standout feature, thanks to the padded shoulder straps and back panel. Even on long hikes, it remains comfortable and supportive. The durability of the materials used inspires confidence, assuring me that this backpack is built to withstand the rigors of various environments (plus Osprey offers lifetime warranty on the hardware).
Versatility is another key highlight. It seamlessly attaches to larger Osprey packs, enhancing its functionality for longer trips. Overall, the Osprey Daylite Plus has become my go-to backpack, striking the perfect balance between form and function. Highly recommended!
