Visiting Latvia for the first time in the autumn, we quickly fell for the fall colors and the diverse and beautiful country.

We spent three days on the Gulf of Riga in the town of Jurmala. Even though it was chilly, we walked the long stretch of beach and tromped around the beachfront forest, discovering a bounty of mushrooms that the region is so well-known for.

The remainder of our time in Latvia - almost two weeks - was spent in the capital city of Riga. We marveled at the mix of architectural styles, took in city views from multiple vantage points and sampled the local cuisine.
