Located in the Zaleski State Forest, Moonville Tunnel is one of the intriguing attractions near Hocking Hills. The Moonville Tunnel, which is said to be haunted, was built in the mid-1800s to accommodate a railroad line.

Because trains no longer traverse the route, the railroad tracks have been transformed into a walking path. The multiuse Moonville Tunnel Rail Trail extends 16 miles in total, but many hikers walk a 1-mile out-and-back section through the tunnel.
